What the free tool can honestly tell you.
The free fan-out is a model of your fragment space, generated from engine behavior profiles. It is genuinely useful and it is genuinely limited, and the difference is not a sales tactic. It is the provenance label.
Modeled output
#A modeled output is a subquery set generated from documented engine behavior profiles rather than captured from an engine's live retrieval. Modeled rows are directionally reliable for theme discovery and are not evidence that a specific engine issued a specific string.
Nobody can show you 'your exact fan-out' on engines that publish no query logs.
Three of the major engines expose nothing. A vendor showing you exact strings on those surfaces is showing you a model with the label removed. We keep the label on.
How do the two outputs compare?
Use the free fan-out to decide whether the fragment space in your category is worth investigating at all. It will surface themes you are not covering, and it will produce one content unit built to our production standard so you can judge the writing before you judge the strategy. It will not tell you where you stand against competitors, and it does not pretend to.
Start with the modeled read. Upgrade when the themes look worth owning.
